L’Europe cherche son champion IAM, Memority lève 13 M€ pour s’imposer

Memority Raises €13 Million for IAM Market Expansion

As digital identity management becomes increasingly crucial in cybersecurity, European companies like Memority are striving to establish a foothold in a market dominated by American solutions. The Paris-based startup has secured €13 million in funding to offer a sovereign response to the growing needs in Identity and Access Management (IAM).

The rise of cloud services, the widespread adoption of hybrid work environments, and the proliferation of connected devices have significantly altered digital security requirements. Companies now focus not only on protecting infrastructures but also on ensuring that individuals, applications, and machines access only the resources intended for them.

According to Gartner, 80% of companies are expected to use Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) solutions by 2027. This shift is already underway, with increasing cyberattacks involving compromised credentials. Juniper Research reports that 85% of security incidents involve an identity breach, and in France, ANSSI recorded a 37% rise in cyberattacks in 2022.

IAM is now a concern beyond IT security officers, impacting compliance, user experience, data governance, and business processes.

Founded by Gilles Castéran, Francis Grégoire, Alexis de Calan, and Phouric Ung, Memority aims to offer a unified SaaS platform called Identity Factory. This platform manages identities end-to-end for employees, partners, customers, and connected devices.

The platform integrates several functional components, including IDaaS, Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), Customer IAM (CIAM), Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and identity federation. It seeks to centralize access rights management, reduce IAM project deployment times, and lower the total cost of ownership for businesses.

According to Memority CEO Gilles Castéran, the goal extends beyond technical efficiency: "We aim to meet the specific needs of European companies with a solution built on their regulatory and operational standards."

Memority's efforts are part of a broader structuring of the European cybersecurity ecosystem. The Brienne fund by Tikehau Capital, dedicated to this sector, leads the funding round, reflecting investors' growing interest in strategic and resilient solutions.

Memority will face competition from established players such as Okta , a global leader with thousands of clients and strong cloud tool integration capabilities, and Ping Identity , acquired by Thoma Bravo, which targets large enterprises focusing on Zero Trust architectures.

In Europe, Wallix , specializing in privileged access management, has strengthened its position, especially in the public sector. Unissey, operating in a complementary area, develops biometric recognition technologies for authentication.

Memority relies on a modular, cloud-native approach, adaptable to various business use cases while ensuring data sovereignty in compliance with GDPR and NIS2 requirements.
